Brutal Honesty in an Opinion

My goal is life is to enjoy good books. That is why I started this blog. In it, I express my opinion and it has come to my attention that some people feel I am unfair in my reviews. I write the good and the bad of things. I write the things I feel are important to someone who may be considering it as an option for reading. If a book is good, I tell you it is good. If it isn’t, I am not afraid to tell you that it isn’t. This is because I read the books that are not always the most highly rated and try to keep an open mind on them. However, I do not feel that you must always follow my opinions. They are just that. My opinions and if you feel I am wrong; I encourage you to tell me.

The Truth Hurts

If I read a book that does not appeal to me; I say it. If it is a story that does not have realistic characters, I’ll say it. There is nothing that annoys me more than reading a book that has underdeveloped characters. I like personality. I enjoy knowing a background and being given an idea of where that person came from and how they got to that point in their story. I have to think that there are others out there like me who need to be able to relate to the character. If not, then I am sorry, but it is my opinion.

I Like What I Like

I have favorite books. I have favorite book covers. I have a lot of favorites and things that I look for when I read a book. I have been reading since I was very young. I have books that I enjoyed reading as a young girl and still enjoy. My preferences are mine and no one can make me change my thoughts. I have to assume, yet again, that everyone else is the same way. Don’t let my opinions influence yours. If you are looking for a read, you can find out what I have to say and then compare it to your own opinions of the books you read. If we match up, great; if we don’t, tell me. Either way, I’m not going to change my thoughts and really do not expect you to change yours.

Life Is Too Short

They say that life is too short to read bad books. I agree with that statement. I strive to pick and  choose the books I read so that I can avoid the ones that are not impressive. I hope that you are able to do the same.
